GTA 6 Confirmed Features: What Rockstar Has Shown
A running list of everything Rockstar has confirmed about GTA 6, split from the things fans keep repeating that were never announced.
Two trailers and a handful of official posts is everything the public has. This page lists what that material actually confirms, and separates it from the claims that have been repeated so often they feel official.
Confirmed by Rockstar
- Setting. The state of Leonida, with Vice City as its main urban area. Leonida takes clear inspiration from Florida.
- Protagonists. Two playable leads, Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval, presented as a criminal pair.
- Platforms. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S.
- Tone. A modern day setting with heavy use of social media and short form video as in world texture.
Leonida and Vice City
Vice City returns for the first time since 2006, rebuilt at modern scale. The trailers also show swamp, coastal and rural areas outside the city, which suggests a state rather than a single urban map. Our map regions breakdown goes through each area that has appeared in footage.
The two protagonists
Lucia Caminos is the first female lead in a mainline modern Grand Theft Auto. The trailers frame her and Jason Duval as partners rather than as separate storylines that happen to cross. How that works in play, and whether you swap freely between them, has not been explained. Read more on Lucia and Jason.

- Any gameplay walkthrough rather than trailer footage.
- Detail on the online mode, including whether it launches with the game.
- Progression systems: money, properties, businesses and how they connect.
